800G QSFP-DD is a high-speed optical transceiver that utilizes the “Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Double Density” package. Its core design increases the number of high-speed channels from four to eight by adding a second row of electrical contacts on top of the standard QSFP package, thereby achieving a total bandwidth of 800 Gbps.It is primarily used for high-speed interconnects within data centers, in 800G Ethernet, and in AI computing clusters to meet demands for high bandwidth and low latency. A key feature of this package is its physical compatibility with previous-generation QSFP modules, along with support for various modulation schemes and improved thermal design.
